About
I've always been a word nerd. You know, one of those people who flinches when they see a typo on a menu or can't help but correct the grammar on their breakfast cereal box. But I also have a deep and abiding love for thoughtful, well-crafted writing, and after enjoying a long and winding career path in science and education, it just felt natural to me to transition into editing.

My educational background is in ecology, evolutionary biology, and animal behavior, and I have more than six years of experience as a science educator and over eight combined years of experience in proofreading and copyediting academic, technical, and popular nonfiction writing. In 2021, I moved into a more traditional copyediting role, editing book proposals and nonfiction titles. As a former scientist and educator, I'm skilled at fact checking, time management, and respectful and effective communication. Through my more recent copyediting experience, I have become highly proficient in editing with track changes in Microsoft Word and utilizing The Chicago Manual of Style.
